about
After a rough night in OKC, we stood up for ourselves and fellow artists and women in music in particular, too.
Then we did something about it.
This song was a way to get those feelings out. It doesn't matter which side of the party line you are on, we've gotta treat each other with kindness. And we've gotta get more voices heard-- diverse in gender, ethnicity, and sexuality.
Recorded in an empty house in Amarillo on the only working recording equipment we could find-- a Tascam 4 track cassette deck.
lyrics
I'm sorry for all my sorries that didn't end right there.
All those buts and excuses and those buttoned up abuses
The slipped from my lips into the air.
I've been on the other side, now--
I wish it didn't take so long.
I'm sorry for all my sorries.
They were just there to silence your song.
There's a blue door in every city,
Down the street there's a red one, too.
In the end I'm still with Woody--
All you fascists are bound to lose.
All you fascists are bound to lose,
All you fascists are bound to lose.
You can paint it whatever you make it,
There's only so long you can fake it,
When you're calling a spade, it's not hard to confuse--
Those fascists are bound to lose.
I was taught to be gracious, I was taught to be kind,
But even water off a duck's back
Has to go through my spine.
I've been pulling punches, but I've been pulling numbers, too--
And if yours just came up, looks like we've had enough--
All you fascists are bound to lose.
There's a blue door in every city,
Down the street there's a red one, too.
In the end I'm still with Peggy--
I can be an engineer, too.
All you fascists are bound to lose,
All you fascists are bound to lose--
You can make it whatever you paint it,
There's only so long you can fake it,
When you're calling your shots we won't just sit back and take it--
You fascists are bound to lose.
Mend the wound of the Land
From without or within--
You can take down fascists, too.
