One origin story brings Bauk from Germany, but any misfit will do, so long as he lumbers about, so long as no one says where he came from-- as he always has been. And he's waiting for you... or perhaps he could be you someday, if you aren't careful to walk in the light. Other interpretations bring him from Serbia-- a giant, toothy bear.
